Where do you get your nails done?
Every once in a while, a girl needs to have some “me time” where she usually gets pampered with a mani and a padi and a shoulder or neck massage. Nowadays nail salons can be found everywhere which provide the best manicures and pedicures. Each salon is unique in its own way. I for one have tried the following three salons and had a great experience; I don’t mind returning to anyone of them any day.
Nail Bar - Galleria 2000
I like to go either when its daylight because of the sun passing through the glass windows. It has a friendly and warm atmosphere.
Nailtini - Al-Nuhassy Building, Surra
It’s a small and adorable place. I like the green floral design of the walls. The ladies that work there are very welcoming, they make you feel that they have known you for a long time, even if you have just met them.
Pineapple - Al-Shaab
What I like about the place is that after your sweaty and tiring workout in the gym, you can go upstairs to the salon where you can relax and chill while getting your nails done.
The average price to get a standard manicure and pedicure is around 10 KWD. Oh by the way bright RED and ORANGE are the latest colors of the season. Let’s not forget the classic French that never goes out of style!!!
Which salon is your favorite here in Kuwait? Have you tried going to any of the above salons?…if so what was it like?

Eva asked in an earlier post for some fragrance recommendations, something fresh and light for the summer mornings. Ansam and Aseel recommended Kenzo Parfum D’éte, Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker, Vera Wang Princess, and Eau de Lune by Laura Mercier.
I didn’t have any recommendations. Why? I’m very picky when it comes to scents. I usually stick to one perfume. I don’t like changing them except for seasons, of course! In fact when I want to try new perfumes I usually raid my mother’s dresser. She buys perfumes every time a new one comes out and so that’s the first place I went to after reading Eva’s comment.
I tried Calvin Klein Euphoria Blossom. It was nice but not for me. Salvator Ferragamo’s Incanto tried to be too many things and confused my senses. Clinique’s Happy to Be made me sneeze. Issey Miyake never agrees with me. There’s just something about the scent that I cannot stand. Dior Addict 2 Summer Peonies was not for me. The Flower By Kenzo bottle always attracts my attention for some reason and I liked its fresh scent. ck one summer reaffirmed that I will never like another ck perfume again. ck one was my favorite scent during my high school years but the love affair with ck ended then. Escada Sunset Heat for Her was one I stole from that dresser but I only loved two scents. They were Valentino’s Rock ‘n Rose and Nina Ricci. These two are currently residing in my room. I think it will be some time before I change perfumes again.
So in the end, Eva, I can only recommend Valentino and Nina Ricci but I think the best thing to do would be to go to Vavavoom or Debenhams and check out the Bestselling Top 10 perfumes. It’s a great way to be exposed to the latest perfumes and they always offer a wide variety of other perfumes if none of the top ten please you.
Which perfume do you use during the summer? Is there a new perfume you’ve bought that you’d recommend to Eva? Let her know in the comments!

Are you a fan of Christian Louboutin shoes? Are you a manicure pedicure type of girl? You may be interested in getting the Louboutin manicure. This is the creation of Zoe Pocock who was inspired by the heavenly shoes. The manicure is comprised of polishing a dark layer on top of the nails and then applying red underneath them. If you have your own manicure sets you could try it out and see the effect.
What do you think of the look? Would you start matching your nails with your shoes?

These are the latest Christian Louboutin heels I’m in love with. You can get these Louboutin Super Wallis Platforms, shown above, at Net-a-Porter.com.
Update: EniGma tried out the Louboutin Manicure on herself. You can read her thoughts on it here.
