Would You Let a Bird Nest in Your Hair?

Yesterday, I paid a visit to Brown Booteek at Tala Center, Salmiya. They have a new collection of clothing and accessories which are lovely. I spotted this headband and was told by stylist, Joanna, that girls were snapping it up in imitation of Carrie in the Sex and the City movie. Now, I may be biased because birds attacked my hair when I was a child but I wasn’t a fan of the mock bird on Carrie’s head in the movie and I don’t like it on this headband.
How about you? I doubt birds dove into your hair as a child! What do you think? Would you wear this? Let me (and Joanna) know in the comments below!

In case you missed it, here is an image of Carrie with the bird in her hair. Would you get married with that on your head?

headbands are in, and there are cute ones, big ones with jewels, objects, or whatever. Some are pretty nice and I would wear or consider wearing.. but not that band (the pic above) not Carrie’s! Not my cup of tea!

I think you have to be really careful about the color of the feathers. You don’t want to match your hair exactly, but you don’t want to look too exotic with some strange neon color if you just want to wear the headband to dinner. It’s a difficult look to pull off.
I have seen Lindsay Price (Victory Ford, on “Lipstick Jungle”) wear a hair accessory with feathers, however, and I thought it looked amazing on her…

feathers are in…. and I would definitely consider wearing either Carries or the one from brown!! they enhance the curls and strengthen the straight hair . I do believe they are the ultimate accessory because of the subtle color and the light texture. it brings out the item its pressed on. the highly of SSC was the wedding the dress and how an item like a feather would be used…a peacock was known for bragging his feather why can’t we flock and fly …!! excellent topic btw..!!

Thanks for all your input girls! I think you all shared some great opinions
Daddy’s Girl I miss it too! But I think this one is easier to navigate. I’m going to try to get a fashionable header in place.
Ansam & Sabeeha, I love the way Blair in Gossip Girl wears her headbands. Will do a feature shortly

feathers are really not my thing.
i wouldn’t mind them for a fun themed event, but not seriously no… and definitely not for my wedding!

I love this hair band, but to be honest, when i tried it on, i knew I couldnt pull it off with my simple way of dressing though I appreciate how funky it is… Maybe one day I will have the guts to wear it…

Just because someone famous wears a dead bird on her head doesn’t mean we should follow in her foot steps….

To elaborate it’s Chapter 13, Lipstick Jungle, Victory Ford feather head piece when she wears the wedding gown in her runway show finale.
