Kuwait To Replace Paper Bags at Co-Ops
Published July 26th, 2007

It looks like my Anya Hindmarch bag is going to be more useful in the coming days.
According to news sources, “A government programme to replace plastic bags with paper ones at retail outlets is underway in Kuwait. Over a million paper bags have been distributed to co-ops in a bid to reduce the number of non-biodegradable plastic bags polluting the environment, according to the Kuwait Times. The public will also be educated about the role plastic bags play in causing cancer.”
If you own the “I’m Not a Plastic Bag,” have you used it to carry home your groceries or has it simply substituted your regular handbag?

Well, it’’s about time for them to change the plastic bags but I am never ever gonna buy the Villa Moda bag to buy my grocery with!
Thats an awesome idea. I remember when I was in the States, I used to always ask for paper bags. I am trying my best to be environmental friendly
that’s great news, finally some one is doing something
I just hope that this 1 would stick
and as for my Anya Hindmarch bag, I mostly use it to carry my books or for other things, but never tried groceries although I’ve thought about it a couple of times if that counts
AH’s bag can’t be used for the gorocires in Kuwiat, we buy huge amount of it, we are not in the US
I’m not sure about our people liking the paper bag though
lol it just replaced my regular bag!
That is actually pretty cool!
Eco friendly! love it!
I keep seeing these bags everywhere and i think they are brilliant. The eco-friendly alternative are starting to hit mainstream. Where they should be IMHO. I’m in the UK and have recently bought me and my girlfriend a jute bag each. They’re are not ‘designer’ as such but they are very funky and we use them when we go food shopping. Great post,
Adrian
