Fashionable Television Shows

Do you remember the time when we used to watch American TV shows to see what the latest trends were? From Sex and the City, Friends, Melrose Place, Beverly Hills 90210 and the list goes on….

My number one Fashion icon was Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) from Sex and the City. I loved her unique style. Anything would look amazing on her!

The pictures shown below are my season six favorites.

The best part of this outfit is the flower-festooned top. Her Chanel cap tops it all.

This outfit above looks comfortable, something I would wear. I also like the scarf; she wore a lot of those in the show.

I love her top in this picture. The reason why she’s my fashion icon is how she manages to look elegant without the appearance of trying too hard.

Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) from Friends is my second fashion icon, but I focused more on her hair.

I loved her hair so much I remember once going to the hair dresser asking for the famous Rachel Green hair cut. I didn’t care if it suited me or not, I just wanted it!!

Every time someone noticed I got a hair cut I had to add, “Yeah it’s the famous Rachel Green cut!!”

Did you ever go to a hair dresser and asked for a celebrity hair cut? If so, who?

Jen’s hair looks good whether it’s tied all up,

…long and straight…

… really long…

…and back to short again!

What shows did you watch for some fashion tips???

SJP managed to become a Hollywood beauty with her natural look (big hair, big nose… etc)
She is so beautiful in a very different way. Her style is one of a kind.. she, as Carrie Bradshaw, got this unique sense of style/fashion… specially in her shoes.

Do you know that a movie based on Sex and the City is on the way?

OK I have not really answered your question! But I dont really have a fashion icon!

Well…. I have admire Rachel Bilson’s style! I also like Victoria Beckham’s daring sense of fashion.. and I also like Jessica Alba and Reese Witherspoon. Oh oh!!!! & my all time favorite, Jakie-O… she was THE trend setter of her time and had this timeless classiness, wasnt she?!

I just dont refer to anyone of those ladies as my fashion icon!

I am more of a casual girl. I like to watch what Michelle Branch from The Wrekcer wears. She can look fancy and casual at the same time.

I remember in the second photo in that episode she considered herself being missy & not dressing up when she accidently ran into Doug!

regarding going to Salon for a hair cut! I always use this “plz i need a new hair cut with a color that suits me”
    :D

I’ve took some ideas from celebrity when it comes to my hair
but when it comes to clothes I’d have to say that i really liked the O.C. wardrobe, Friends and Gilmore Girls
I didn’t catch the SATC bug till recently and can’t wait to see the movie

My source was also SATC and my favourite character wardrobe was Kirsten Davis’, and not SJP’s - too funky and wild for my taste.

There is this refined and magestic elegance about Charlotte York that no character can surpass. And she never had to starve herself to death in order to look good in the clothes she’s wearing.

I’d like to thank Zahra for giving me the opportunity to express some of my thoughts in her amazing blog! and I thank you all for your comments =D

LayDeeLay: I agree that the girls in Charmed wore nice clothes..they also had good taste in jewelry.

Ansam: You’re right Sara Jessica Parker has a unique beauty…Yeah I cant wait to see their movie!! Oh and no-one has topped Jackie-O’s classic style yet.

Sara: Michelle Branch’s voice is so good it distracts me from paying attention to what she wears :)

Brandy: It’s always good to make up your own style..and getting a little help from celebrities is always a plus!

Yara: I miss sex and the city too!! Sienna Miller does have a nice style..about J.LO…hmm..sometimes she goes overboard.

Dreamy: Thanx =)next time you go to the salon try asking for a celebrtiy cut you like, you’ll feel good afterwards. But first make sure the cut suits your face ;)

Vividly: The OC girls did have a nice West Coast style and I cant wait to see the sex and the city movie too!

Shosho: I wont deny that Kirsten did have an elegant style, but every once in while it’s fun to try the funky/crazy side.
