MOSAIC at Salhiya Complex
Published July 14th, 2007
When you first enter the spacious MOSAIC store in Salhiya Complex you are taken in by the bright colors of the clothes. Pretty pinks, brilliant blues and an array of glittering green items offer a delightful rainbow of selection. You’ll find a wide range of clothing from shirts to dresses, casual to formal, in all sizes. MOSAIC carries over 15 brands, most are exclusive to Kuwait.
MOSAIC has been around for two years and store owner, Maha Al-Rashed, has already expanded her stores. Her store, Vintage, caters to primarily to males with some female t-shirts and jeans available. I’m going to devote a post to it tomorrow so be sure to check back on Kuwait-Style.com! She is also opening another female store, Meghan, soon. It’s situated right next door to Vintage.
I loved a lot of items at MOSAIC but my personal favorites had to be the James Coviello tops and evening dress.
You can see pictures of them by clicking on page #2 at the bottom of this post. You’ll find it under Related Posts. I’ve got plenty of pictures of the collections and believe me they’re stunning pieces!

I always love to know the story behind how a store started and I know you readers love them too! Here is what MOSAIC owner, Maha Al-Rashed, had to say about the inspiration behind the store:
MOSAIC, is a concept I thought of while I was in college. There used to be a store that I frequented while I was in school and I would find the most unique things in the market, though they were a bit expensive and not exactly in my budget range, but I used to just enjoy going in there and having a look at what was available. Mosaic is a multi-brand store here in Salhiya Complex, now it’s not the first store available in Kuwait, but I need to find something that would make us different and not just like every other store, so while I was in my last semester in college I met a lady who had what I wanted to bring to Kuwait, a store that carried different brands, but the brands are American!

When people think of American brands, their minds automatically go to GAP, Banana Republic, J.Crew and some other brands. So I thought, as a society we are very forward thinking and very aware of fashion and so let me expose people to U.S design. And for former university students in the US as well as current students, they don’t miss out on the latest designs from their favorite US brands.

I carry approximately 15 to 20 brands in the store which are: Nanette Lepore, Nicole Miller, James Coviello, Lotta NYC (discontinued), Nicole Bakti, Ingwa Melero, Hudson Jeans, Serfontaine, B& Joy, Sweetees, Andrea Bruckner, Yoanna Baraschi, Betsey Johnson, Lockheart, Margaret Loves Peter, JW Workshop, Laura Rosnovsky, TAKA, Linea Pelle, TIBI (discontinued), LA MADE, Alex Gore Browne, Camilla (Australian Brand), Wheels & Dollbaby (Australian Brand), Monoplaza, Ivana Helsinki (Finland), Brasilianas (Brazil), Love is Love (Italy), Rose & Thin (Italy), Lolita Jaca (St. Barth’s).

Everyday a new brand is discovered and we try our best to provide these brands to our clients. We like to think of Mosaic as a revolving door that allows our clients to experience different options in fashion for each individual’s style. You are bound to find something for you. I would also like to mention that we are also carrying a brand called Meghan Fabulous in which we will be opening the first flagship store in the world in the next few weeks!
MOSAIC is located in Salhiya Complex, Mezzanine Level 1, Store #36. You can call them at 2996435.
Also be sure to check out the guy’s collection at Vintage on Mezzanine Level 2, Store #8.
