Do You Shop at Next?
Do you remember the days of shopping in Old Salmiya and the only stores we had on that stretch were Next, Bhs, Mothercare, Ecco and a few others? They were the days before the shopping malls took over Kuwait. Are you old enough to remember a Kuwait that wasn’t full of shopping malls?
When I was younger, I used to enjoy buying stuff from Next but over the years my taste changed. I haven’t bought anything from them in years! Yesterday, while shopping online I saw an advertisement for Next and I liked the dress the model was wearing. I visited their online website and surprisingly I actually liked a few pieces of their collection. I’m a little dubious about their quality so I will definitely have to go into the store and see if I like the material and fabrics they used but the advertisement did its trick. It made me want to walk into the store and look over their collection.
To show you some of the items I liked I’ve included images below. What do you think of these white and brown belted shirt dresses? Have you bought a lot of dresses for the summer? Fall is going to be all about pants again so use the opportunity to wear all your dresses now! The suit also looks great, because the skirt is the perfect length for Kuwait!
Next also has quite a few of these casual little black dresses. Do you like any of them? Which one’s your favorite?

Actually their stuff is quite cool o their pajamas nicee… remember two years back when the belt which was braided in silver or gold or brown was the it belt? i was in uk o the first store to display it in their window was next… they are not cheap quality either their stuff is good o long lasting “Kadd o Madd” mithil ma ingool
besides their sizing is loose o will fit girls who are a bit on the heavy side… but here is a tip… shop their new collection in uk or online dont think of going to kuwait,, one day i was in one of their branches in the fitting room at 10 pm which is closing time o one of the girls working there didnt know i was in the fitting room so she takes a shirt (v nice red polka dots tank top with spaghetti stripe o like betty boob stlye) o was trying it on while her male colleauge is in the fitting room o complementing her in a lusty way!!!! NEedless to say i was scared so i ran from the fitting room o she screamed her lungs out o my husband who was at the casher ikhtr3 o in 3 seconds i bought what i wanted o ran out !

o another time i was looking for a v. nice purple shirt fitted o a lovely shade of purple… i wanted a certain size… lets say 8 (as if ..) i was at marina o asked for it o they said its sold out thought its new collection o the only one left is in sharq one piece,,, fa i kinda had to beg to get them to pick up the phone o ask sharq to reserve it in my husbands name… they said its there until four pm tommorw… nxt day i get out of work at 3 o i race all the way to make it to sharq before 4 o i tell them about my shirt o they say what? no one said anything about reserving it o its already gone!!!! i talk to all of them including the manager o even the girl who was supposed to be working o took in the phone call… no one knows about it!!!
im furious, i go home disappointed, my husband gets a call after one hour from next o yezefonah zaff inah we reserve for u a blouse o you never show up in soug sharq… i took the phone from him o gave them a piece of my mind!!! o the reason my shir was sold out there that it was behind the counter kept for me all along!!!!! what kinda customer service is that?
So its next UK for me always … in august when they have a sale they close down the whole store a day before… if you go there at 8 am o stand inline you can get all their stuff at 50-70% off

Been reading here for a while now but didn’t get much of a chance to comment.
I gotta admit you’ve got a great unique idea at blogging and I am loving your insights at what are great in shops, I believe one day you would be the breakfall of my bank account hehe because I can’t help falling in love with some of the pieces you’ve got. I especially love the Suit! I hope it’s here in Kuwait.
Oh yeah an idea that just came up which you really don’t have to work with at all, but what do you think about posting a series of posts on what would be the nicest choice of clothing for various jobs, as in if you work at a bank then you should consider the following items and so forth

Anyway, here’s a little tidbit about Next. Some of the clothes you find in Next in Kuwait you will not be able to find in stores in the UK. Next has a section called Next Own Bought, and they cater to the special (Islamic) needs of the region (the Gulf), like long dresses and skirts, baggy tops and long sleeve shirts, in addition to their regular line up of clothes.

I have heard rumors of stores doing that in Kuwait but they were never verified until now! Do you know of any of the other stores that do this? Again, I am glad that somebody else out there remembers Old Salmiya other than me! I remember visiting Fahaheel on occasion to go to their stores there. It was a different experience!

I love shopping at NEXT but in the UK not here. I prefer the collection and prices they have in the UK. Plus the layout is more attractive. I hardly ever enter a NEXT store here in Kuwait!
