Trend: Fruity Necklaces

Do you own a piece of fruit jewelry? I’ve been seeing fruity necklaces everywhere for the past three months! This fruit craze first hit last year with the introduction of Kenneth Jay Lane’s strawberry pendant. It slowly branched out from the strawberry to different fruits such as apples, pears, cherries, and pineapples.

I guess this fruity trend is here to stay for the summer because I keep seeing more and more of them everywhere. It’s being sold in many stores I’ve visited but I haven’t been tempted by this trend. It’s funny because I’ve loved the seahorse and bird but cannot find it in me to wear a piece of fruit around my neck.

You can get the original from MyPinkMoon.com for KD36.

For those who want the look for less, there are also many other versions available in the market. Aldo’s copies sell for around KD6.

You can find the following pendants at Oasis. I like how the necklace has a cute little ladybug attached but don’t particularly care for the design.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

You know what! I told you I love ladybugs right? GUESS WHAT!?

Little Treats (check my post today about it - http://ansam518.blogspot.com/2007/06/my-little-big-treat-today.html) sent me complimentary cupcakes with ladybugs on them! How ironic is that! I think God is listening to my prayers today LOL

Ansam haha I will do dragonflies but never ladybugs! We are beginning to disagree (the sign of a healthy relationship ;P) Did she know you loved ladybugs and that’s why she added ladybugs on your cupcakes or was it a pure coincidence? It’s a sweet move of her nonetheless :)

EniGma do you have a fruit necklace?

I found some at River Island the other day or was it Zara? I honestly don’t remember ‘cuz the Avenues is so huuuge! But what I do remember is that they were only for 8KD each, and they weren’t those ridiculously short necklaces (notice I said necklace and not choker) that practically choke you. Those were the long sort that would look wonderful when layered correctly. The only downside is that the chain was in gold and I think gold is tacky.

eva & Ansam I’m sure you know how I feel about the butterflies ;) eva I’d love to get some fish accessories for the summer.

Drunk’n'Gorgeous Avenues is huge. Everyone I know has gotten lost at least once there haha! I love long necklaces and pendants just the way you described them. I have a feeling I’d love your style. As for me, I favor gold in the summer. I don’t know why.
