In the previous post I mentioned how New Look is opening soon in The Avenues mall. It’s only one of many stores that will be opening their doors to customers in the month of May. It’s an exciting time for shoppers since most of these retailers are arriving in Kuwait for the first time. I’m eager to shop at the US stores that will be available: Forever 21, Banana Republic and the GAP. It’s about time they got to Kuwait.

My inner geek immediately compiled a list of things I want to purchase at each store and I’m going to be posting them in the next few days. Here are the top 5 things I want to buy from the GAP:

1. 

   This long tunic is the sort of basic I love. You can coordinate it with so many outfits and accessories. It’s perfect for Kuwait summers. Of course, this being Kuwait, I’ll have to layer it with a shirt underneath or something on top so that I’m not walking around sleeveless.

2. 

   This is another usual buy for me. I love sportswear and this hoodie looks supremely comfortable. It might be a nice purchase to keep on hand for autumn, when the weather cools a bit.

3. 

   This is my MUST BUY item on the Top 5 list. I love this short sleeved military jacket, especially its striking color. GAP calls it rolling bay blue. I have no idea what that means, I just know that I love it. I already have the outfit and bag I’m going to wear it with planned out. Let’s hope this jacket makes it’s way to Kuwait.

4. 

   I’m sure you’ve seen the Gwen Stefani video for her single “A Simple Life”. I don’t have the guts (or the body) to wear her dress in the video but it got me craving a black and white striped item. This may be it.

5. 

   The only pants to make my list were the tailored boyfriend pants because of their color. I have a top that needs a pant this color (terrain) but I’m not sure they’ll match well with the top because of the pants’ wide-legged cut. The look may end up being too baggy. I’ll have to try it on at the store and see.
